What is Infosec Battlebots?

At Infosec BattleBots, we're passionate about bringing together the exciting worlds of hardware-based fun and cybersecurity. Our project started 2022 and since then, we have been dedicated to creating an exhilarating experience for participants at cybersecurity conferences and more recently North east based local events.

Our primary focus is our Antweight BattleBot arena, where enthusiasts can get a feel of the thrill of driving BattleBots at the Antwieght (approx 15cm ) scale but also can learn how to design their own custom-built robots.

It's an excellent opportunity to test your skills, strategies, and innovations in a physical setting. We bring our battle arena to various cybersecurity conferences across the UK and after some very well received test workshops and local events in 2024 we have planned 2 local events in for 2025 ( details to follow) in Lytham St Annes and Newcastle Upon Tyne , providing attendees with an opportunity to enjoy some robot based destruction and hopefully helping us kickoff STEM clubs at each location.

To further align our activities with the realm of STEM and more specifically cybersecurity, we've built our main arena to be interactive, with all of the weapons being accessible via API but for access you will need to crack our CTF ( Capture The Flag) built in partnership with Hacktoria, you may even be able to control THE CLAW.

This CTF element can be tailored from a basic password finding exercise that works with children from 8 and above to an in depth exercise requiring your team to compromise multiple servers to gain all API keys and eventual admin of the arena.

Next on our list we have the AI element, currently we have multiple cameras in the arena working on gathering leaning footage from both the arena and onboard some bots to train our AI, while this is still in the early phases progress is going well on both the AI driven bot for the Beat the Bores Battle Duck our side game but also the potential for a fully autonomous arena turret ( with appropriate killswitch ofc were not gonna make Skynet, Yet...), we hope to announce a university partner assisting us in this AI development in the coming months.
